Please review our Workplace Breath Testing Compliance Guide, available here: Workplace Breathalyser Compliance Guide

Passive tests provide rapid screening and do not require a mouthpiece. The user either speaks or exhales into a passive sampling port without any physical contact. These tests indicate the presence or absence of alcohol and are less intrusive. If alcohol is detected during the screening test, an active test is typically conducted.
An active test requires a mouthpiece to be attached to the device, providing an accurate blood alcohol concentration (BAC) measurement.
Devices such as the SHIELD breathalyser are capable of performing both testing modes and storing data within the unit’s memory.

Any organisation that aims to achieve optimal performance from its employees and manage the risks linked to drug and alcohol use must establish clear policies. This is especially crucial in industries where safety is a priority. Employers are obligated to create a safe working environment and may introduce policies to uphold this duty. A well-defined policy aids in maintaining consistency throughout the organisation and mitigates potential legal ramifications.

Workplace Breathalysers

Maintaining a safe and efficient work environment begins with dependable workplace breathalysers. Regardless of whether your organisation is involved in construction, transportation, mining, or manufacturing, a professional workplace breathalyser can aid in maintaining compliance, mitigating risks, and strengthening workplace safety regulations. Many employers integrate alcohol screening into their broader health and safety initiatives to promote accountability and reduce incidents related to alcohol impairment.

Successful workplace testing programs typically merge alcohol screening with thorough workplace drug and alcohol testing procedures. Ranging from pre-employment screening and random testing to post-incident investigations and return-to-work assessments, modern testing solutions deliver quick, precise results while assisting businesses in fulfilling their duty of care responsibilities. Selecting high-quality workplace testing equipment guarantees reliable performance and contributes to a safer, more compliant workforce.
